Luau for King Lear

Performances Feb 17 - 20 & 24 - 27, 2005

 

An hilarious prequel to “Barbecuing Hamlet”. The Peaceful Glen Memorial Players, with their bickering board members, are conducting community theatre as usual. This time, in order to keep their building, they plan to perform Shakespeare’s “King Lear”… Hawaiian style.  

 

CAST of CHARACTERS 

 

Tamara Logan: Chic head of the Fine Arts Council, played by Bonnie Bertelson

 

Hope Halliday: Snappish woman on a diet, played by Junior Cruea

 

Duncan O’Toole: Wise guy, and Hope’s nemesis, played by O. J. Gonnella

 

Sarge Abbott: Sarcastic handyman, knows everything, played by James Nelson

 

Mary Beth Lumpkin: Mousy secretary of the board, played by Barb Hocker

 

Blair Beesley: Insecure director and unknowing patsy, played by Brenda Ricciuto

 

Mrs. Blankton: Cantankerous woman who dwells in the basement appartment of the The Peacful Glenn Theatre, played by Cathy Marquis

 

Callie Hampton: Giggly teenage girl, played by Tara Beck

 

Alex Rochester: Another teenage girl, more serious than Callie and has allergies, played by Brittany Lloyd

 

Theodora Van Horne: Flamboyant theatre type, 40 and then some, played by Nita Sebastian

 

Otis Hockwell: Mild-mannered gentleman with a glass eye, played by Bud Fischer

 

Elzbeth Beesley: Blair’s upper-crust mother, played by Sharon Beck
